A guiding force

Not a hand leading me directly

But subtle

Tap, tap

On my shoulder

Morse code

Telling me

Which way you think I should go

You’re advice

Never a scream

Always a whisper

A gentle call

To the days when we were girls

With maintained innocence

Not yet ruined by the onlookers

Wind through the grass

Is how you tell me

Not to be brash

With my decisions

Let them down delicately

By the pond

Condition serenity in them

To soften the blow

Wild horse in the fields

Is how you tell me

To not stay anchored to this town

To explore

Like I promised you I would

When I had my wits together

A fallen berry

To tell me

It’s enough to drink today

The sangria tasting sour

As I feel you disappointed sigh breathe through me

A chilled bed

Warmed by your phantom

To seduce me to restful sleep

You are my second soul

My second consciousness

For when my first gets drunk

With half thought out bad ideas

That will disturb everything I’ve

Managed to cultivate for myself

My sounding board, the skull I speak to

When I am pondering

The questions carved into our bone morrow

The first words on our mouths when we are born

My second soul

You answer them

Tell me

They lie in wait

Tomorrow if i just take a moment

To look around slowly

I’ll see them

As I see you

In mundane mishaps

And everyday magic
